how to create brown dolly eyes

for the prom fashion show event at holt renfrew yorkdale, i wore a brown dolly eyed look which turned out to be a favourite amongst clients and online shu fans. i’ve received a few requests on how to create the look. so here it is step-by-step:

 

 

SKIN:

for a dolly-look, it’s important to have “porcelain”-like skin. i don’t mean that it needs to be porcelain pale in colour, but it needs to be even and glowing.

• the new mamechiyo collection BB beige uv underbase (to even out skin tone and to control oil)
• face architect illuminating moisture foundation in 564 (that’s how i got the glow in my skin)
• face powder mattein colourless only on my T-zone because i wanted my cheeks to glow
• glow on blush in medium peach 561 and light peach 510 to highlight my cheekbones (that’s how i got the peachy highlight on my cheekbone which really compliments bone structure with the flash of a camera)

 

 

EYES:

• base colour – medium brown 862 (brush 11 – i placed colour a little off-center towards outer corner on my lid and then created gradation from that point to cover my entire lid)
• crease – matte brown 895 (brush 10 – i swept the colour in an arch to compliment the shape of the fasle lashes and to create large, round eyes. brush 11 to soften edges)
• browbone and inner corner – iridescent white 911 (brush 11 – blending into the brown to soften. this iridescent colour really highlights the brow bone; so many people always ask me about this when i’m wearing it; in the light, it reflects a very high-shine pearly gold)
• eyeliner – painting liner black (brush 4F to tight line upper lash line and brush 2R to line upper lash line)
• eyeliner – me brown drawing pencil (for lower lash line, then use brush 10F and press m dark brown 895 over top;)
• inner corner – g bronze (brush 5R for inner corner and along bottom lashline to open up the eyes even more)
• lashes – smoky layers
